Voter's Guide: Oyster Bay School Budget, Board Election

Oyster Bay East Norwich District residents will vote on the district’s $55 million proposed budget for the 2014-15 school year on Tuesday.

The proposal calls for a 2.01 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.94 percent percent tax levy increase, which is within the state's tax cap.

School officials say the fiscal plan maintains core programs without “significant structures.” Two candidates are officially running for two school board seats. Ann Marie Longo, an incumbent, and Michael Castellano are both running unopposed.
