Oyster Bay-East Norwich School Budget Passes

Oyster Bay voters approved an $55 million budget on Tuesday for the 2014-15 school year.

With a final tally of 1,679 to 444  in favor, residents within the Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District can expect to see a 1.94 percent increase in their collective tax levy in the following year. The budget falls within the tax levy capital limit.

Voters also approved by 903 t0 301 a proposition that authorized the expenditure of capital reserve funds.

The following candidates won school board seats: Ann Marie Longo with 891 votes and Michael Castellano with 882 votes. Both ran unopposed.

In addition, the  public library budget passed, 951 to 238.
