Teddy Roosevelt Grounds Victim of Shutdown

National Park Service facilities is among the first affected by the federal shutdown.

One of the local impacts of the federal government’s partial shutdowns includes Sagamore Hill National Historic Site – the summer home of 26th U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt.

A visit to the park’s website includes this message: “Because of the federal government shutdown, all national parks are closed and National Park Service webpages are not operating. For more information, go to www.doi.gov.”

The house itself has been closed for more than a year as it is under planned renovations. However the ground had remained open until the partial shutdown Tuesday.
