Two teens face burglary and stolen property charges after allegedly burglarizing a Locust Valley home Tuesday night.
Gregory Czaplicki, 17, of Glen Cove, reportedly entered a Cross Street home at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday through an unlocked window, police said. Once inside, he took electronics, sneakers, and coins before exiting the home, cops reported.
On a routine patrol, Officer Glennon of Glen Cove Police recognized a car parked in a suspicious manner in Glen Cove and discovered Taylor Steed, 17, of Glen Cove, inside, said Chief William Whitton. The officer discovered the car was stolen and arrested Steed, said Whitton.
Glen Cove Lieutenant John Nagle searched a security code from a computer found in the car and was able to find an approximate address of the owners, said Whitton. GCPD called Nassau County Police and advised them of a possible burglary at the location, which NCPD was able to confirm.

Steed is charged with criminal possession of stolen property and was arraigned Tuesday. Czaplicki was charged will be charged with second degree burglary and will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
It was originally reported that NCPD had made arrests in this incident.
