Police Make Arrest in Gym Heist

Police allege former employee at Oyster Bay gym stole cash from the register.

A Bayville man was arrested early Thursday in connection with a burglary at Evolution Fitness Gym, Nassau County Police said. 

Thomas Parisi, 20, was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead, charged with two counts of third-degree burglary.

Police allege Parisi, a former employee at Evolution Fitness Gym, located at 138 South St. in Oyster Bay, entered the building twice using a key.

The first time, Parisi took cash from the register Wednesday and left, police said. It’s unclear how much money was taken. 

An employee saw Parisi enter the building a second time, this time at 1:43 a.m. Thursday, and called police. Parisi was arrested without incident.
