Cops: 4 Burglaries Reported Near Oyster Bay

Police report eight total burglaries in the area.

Nassau County Police reported four burglaries near Oyster Bay within one week. Break-ins were reported not only in peoples' homes, but at stores and religious houses as well.

In Lattingtown, a burglar stole a gold Rolex watch and gold locket.

In Syosset, Syosset Beverage was broken into through the front glass door, but nothing was taken. Two days later, Berger Brothers camera store was burglarized, but nothing was stolen. The perpetrator who attempted to break in had apparently cut a hole in a wall, said police.

Two churches were victimized as well. St. Edward the Confessor in Syosset was burglarized, having cash, gift cards, and candy stolen. United Methodist Church in Hicksville reported damage to safes but had nothing stolen.

  • Sept. 12: Burglary; Berger Brothers, Syosset; hole cut through adi wall, nothing stolen,
  • Sept. 15: Burglary; St. Edward the Confessor, Syosset; candy, gift cards, cash stolen.
  • Sept. 15: Burglary; United Methodist Church, Hicksville; damage to safes, nothing stolen.
  • Sept. 17: Burglary; Hempstead Turnpike, Bethpage; front door pried, nothing stolen.
