Evelyn McNamara, a long-time employee of Oyster Bay-East Norwich Public Library, died last week in her sleep. She was 89.
McNamara was born in 1924 in Elmont. She graduated from Bayside High School and the Central Park School of the Arts.
She worked at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Public Library for 20 years before retiring. She was a past treasurer of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Sacred Heart at St. Dominic Church.
McNamara was married 51 years to the late Thomas McNamara, mother to Thomas Jr., Barbara, Christopher, Mark, Steven, and Richard. Sister to Doris and Thomas. Loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren.
