Weigh In: Oyster Bay Intersections in Need of Stop Signs

What sites are desperately in need of a stop sign or traffic light?

Last week, TOBAY officials announced they wouldwithin the town. None of the sites chosen were in Oyster Bay.

Almost immediately, readers chimed in with locations they felt were overlooked as potential nearby sites.

"How about Eastbound Terrehans Lane at Gateway Drive? Accidents here all the time because of people speeding," wrote reader .

Others said the town should skip stop signs and head straight for traffic lights.

"I think a traffic light would be more appropriate there, a stop sign would create a complete log jam on Terrehans," replied reader .

"How about a turning arrow on 25A and Split Rock? As well as a NO LEFT turn on to Cold Spring Road from Split Rock? Takes one car and you might as well put the car in park.. Seen 3 accidents in the past month," said reader .

What intersections in and around Oyster Bay need stop signs? Were there sites in town that you feel were overlooked? Did some intersections make the list of stop sign sights that don't really need one?
