Patch has not seen any LIPA crews on the main roads like Main Street, Cove Road, South Street or 106 and the LIPA outage map does not seem to reflect accurate on-the-ground outage numbers. The LIPA outage map on their website is not showing restoration times and is not reflecting that crews are at nearby sites, aside from Bayville Road area near Locust Valley.
More than 900,000 homes and businesses were affected by outages, according to LIPA. Hospitals, other critical facilities, and emergency services take first priority in the power restoration process, which will be ongoing for the next few days. Be prepared to be in the dark for a while.
