Library to Host Sandy Insurance Session

Financial Services to visit Thursday to answer insurance questions stemming from Hurricane Sandy damage.

Residents with lingering insurance questions can head to the library to speak directly with financial representatives.

Representatives from the Department of Financial Services will be at Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library Thursday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

According to Governor Andrew Cuomo's office, representatives will visit with residents and work with them to help organize their insurance issues stemming from Hurricane Sandy. Nassau citizens can visit and receive answers to homeowners', renters', and business owners' insurance coverage.

If you are unable to get to the Mobile Command Center Thursday, all are encouraged to call the Department of Financial Services' hotline at (800) 339-1759. The line is open 24 hours a day, seven days per week.

Sessions will also be held in Staten Island Friday, Brooklyn on Saturday, and Queens on Sunday.
