Bayville Road Open, Shore Road Remains Closed

Many Bayville residents are back in their homes after evacuation, facing flooding, downed trees.

After being cut off during Hurricane Sandy Monday, Bayville Road is now open. Shore Road collapsed due to erosion from the storm and remains closed.

Army National Guard Sergeant Scott Moyer, who had just come from Bayville Wednesday afternoon, said the village sustained a lot of flooding and downed trees but overall "looked pretty good" after what Sandy put it through Monday.

The Army National Guard was called in Monday to evacuate any persons who did not heed the mandatory evacuation issued for Sandy. Moyer said that he was there to assist with any hard rescues, but thankfully his service was not needed.
