Fire Crews Tackle Overturned Truck

Driver reportedly escaped unharmed from evening accident in Old Brookville.

Fire and hazmat crews descended on an overturned truck that was leaking fuel in Old Brookville Monday evening, officials said.

According to fire officials, Locust Valley Fire Department called in help from Hickville Fire Department Hazmat teams to help with the Monday evening accident.

The truck had overturned at Piping Rock Road and Underhill Road, said officials.

Locust Valley crews used a sand truck to contain leaking diesel fuel from the truck's saddle tanks, said officials. Hazmat crews then pumped the remaining fuel.

The driver reportedly escaped unharmed.
